Firstly, I am a complete sceptic regarding the existence of such things as the Paranormal, including UFOs from space, Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Aliens, Ghosts, God, and Father Christmas, etc. But I did once see Ball Lightning, it was during the 1950s. A friend and myself, we were both young teenagers and were sheltering from a severe thunderstorm in the doorway of a brick building, the doorway was about 1 metre wide and we were just inside the doorway sheltering from the rain and listening to the thunder, about one and a half metres in front of the doorway was a row of iron railings these railings stretched at least a hundred metres both to the left and right of the doorway but our view of them was restricted to just a few feet either side of the doorway opening, we were watching the storm across the fields which stretched out the other side of the railings, suddenly between us and the railings a bright orange ball slowly swept across the doorway opening I would guess it was between 15 and 20 centimetres in diameter it made a sound similar to the sound of a match flaring just as it has been struck, it was only in our sight for a few seconds as our field of view from inside the doorway was very restricted it travelled from our right to the left as though it was following the line of the railings, we laughed about it and wondered what on earth that was, it was then we became aware of a deep humming sound, we stepped outside and realised it was coming from the railings we placed our hands on them and could feel them vibrating. Later that day we heard that a house at the top of the road had been hit by a thunder bolt (whatever that is) We went to look at the house it was about one hundred metres from where we witnessed the ball and was at the end of the same stretch of iron railings. There was a burnt mark near the ridge of the roof and a row of burnt roof tiles running down the slope of the roof from this burn mark, we assumed it was our ball that had hit the roof and rolled down scorching the tiles on its way. This happened over 60 years ago. The whole episode has stuck in my mind ever since. B. Walker.

Yea Buddy,

Yes it's real.. before the great snow storm this Christmas in Long Island I was out making Christmas calls when about 100 feet above 25 yards out a bright globe about the size of a softball appeared. It was hissing and buzzing dropped slowly about 6 feet then exploded with a loud band about the same as a shotgun blast.
The person on the phone heard it and my ahhhhhhh as I hit the deck. Nothing paranormal though I do belive in some of that. No this was a connected event to a storm and definelty related to weather.
So my Dear agnostic author get a life no bigfoot here a nice buzz!!!

I actually have seen a ball or somewhat *strike* of lightning appear to cross through the room straight to the other side, (mind you just missing my brother's head as he was walking acrosss the room perpendicular to it a split second previously before it struck). Litterally it passed through the window to advance throughout the room and then disapear without a trace. The rabbit ears on the television were probably the cause as to why it struck there and then proceeded to the other side.
