Carbonite Drops Rush Limbaugh: Battle of “the sluts”

While Carbonite CEO David Friend backups up personal computers, he apparently doesn’t want to back up his decision to drop Carbonite’s advertisements on the Rush Limbaugh show because Rush called Ms. Fluke a “slut”. Strangely, David Friend is not interested in removing his advertising from the MSNBC Ed Schultz show who also referred to Laura Ingraham as a slut. I find this most intriguing. David Friend apparently doesn’t abide by principal when it comes to calling a woman a slut. Otherwise, why would he pull advertising on one show and…

President Woodrow Wilson was a Racist

No matter how hard the liberals and progressives try, the insidious omission of Woodrow Wilson’s racist policies and outspokenness does not make him a great president. No good in the world could ever right the wrong of racism, especially when coming from a President of the United States. And while Woodrow Wilson did succeed in passing many good laws, such as abolishing child labor, passing anti-trust laws, and creating an 8-hour work day for the railroad workers, it will never erase the fact that Woodrow Wilson was a racist. Having…

Has Inflation Already Arrived in the United States?

For those of you who think inflation hasn’t hit the United States, think again. All one needs to do is visit the grocery store, go to the gas station, or look at the prices of the raw materials used in manufacturing, farming or construction. It’s pretty hard to dispute prices haven’t dramatically risen over the last few years. So why all the confusion about the inflation rate and how it’s affecting prices? The government would like you to believe inflation is under control and right around 3.1% annually, which they…

National Defense Authorization Act

It’s amazing what our Congress can legislate, then get passed as law without a single complaint from the media or from very few people. The latest example is The National Defense Authorization Act (S.1867), the biggest attack on the civil liberties of all American citizens since the Patriot Act. It gives the US military and the Federal Government unprecedented powers to detain US citizens indefinitely and without trial under the law of war. Most progressives will argue that the government will never exercise those powers, but if that’s the case,…

Civil Unrest, Riots, Looting and How to Prepare

Let me fist begin by saying I am not an conspiracy theorist and I do not think we’re going “Mad Max”. Meaning, you aren’t going to see people driving around with loin cloths and hockey masks in pursuit of gasoline and food. So please, keep that in mind as you read this post. I had to make sure my wife understood this before I started buying our supplies, because I didn’t want her to think I was going nuts on her. Having lived through the Los Angeles riots, I have…

Emergency Alert System – Government Power Grab

I think people are missing the point on this one. They shouldn’t be wondering with whether it will work or not. After all, a national test of this magnitude has never been tested, even since the inception of the Emergency Broadcast System some 60 years ago. They shouldn’t be wondering how much value it will provide. In my opinion, those are the wrong thoughts. The first thought that crossed my mind was, ‘why’? Why are they testing this now? This seems silly to me in today’s day and age. And…

Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 Plan: Good or Bad?

Herman Cain is your non-typical presidential candidate, and an interesting one at that. When you look at his life-long achievements, they are grand and admirable. But when it comes to his political experience, he has virtually none, and he has only begun to see how brutal, conniving and dishonest politicians can be. And this is what concerns me most. When you take a little bit of naivety and mix it with a brand new federal tax code, you are seriously exposing yourself to some very harsh unintended consequences if you…
